What sets HOCKEY 101 apart from other hockey programs is our approach to teaching. Under the direction of Alan Ioi, HOCKEY 101 provides a positive learning environment that allows players to challenge themselves to their fullest potential. We believe that developing players requires more out of a program than just skills and drills. Our philosophy of teaching incorporates 4 key principles: explanation, demonstration, repetition and correction. We provide children the opportunity to not only improve their skills but also feel good about themselves, gain confidence in their abilities and most importantly have fun!
HOCKEY 101 is a series of progressive hockey skills programs designed to develop and improve players' individual skill levels through the entire hockey season. Our programs focus on establishing the key fundamental elements of skating, which are posture, push, stride, glide and rhythm. Once these are in place, emphasis is then placed on shooting, passing & mobility on the ice. Once these skills are acquired, repetition and continued instruction are key to reaching one’s potential.
(Hockey 101 staff reserves the right to re-assign students to classes more appropriate to their level)
